Ingredients for Purnachi Amti:
– 1 cup of pigeon peas (toor dal)
– 3-4 green chilies, slit
– 4-5 garlic cloves, crushed
– 1 tsp turmeric powder
– 1 tsp cumin seeds
– 1 tsp mustard seeds
– 2-3 tbsp grated coconut
– 1 small piece of jaggery
– Salt to taste
– Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Recipe for Purnachi Amti:
1. Wash the pigeon peas and pressure cook with turmeric powder and salt until soft.
2. In a separate pan, heat oil and add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, and crushed garlic. Saute until aromatic.
3. Add green chilies and sauté for a minute before adding the cooked pigeon peas along with water.
4. Add grated coconut and jaggery, and bring to a boil. Simmer for a few minutes until the flavors are well blended.
5. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with steamed rice.
