Curd Semiya In Tamil Thayir Semiya

– Welcome to my kitchen where I bring the flavors of South India right to your plate. One of my favorite dishes to make is the traditional Tamil dish known as amma kai manam, or Curd Semiya. This simple yet delicious meal is perfect for a quick and satisfying lunch or dinner.

Ingredients:
– 1 cup of roasted vermicelli
– 2 cups of thick curd
– 1 tbsp of oil
– 1 tsp of mustard seeds
– 1/2 tsp of urad dal
– A few curry leaves
– A pinch of asafoetida
– 2 green chilies, chopped
– Salt to taste
– Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Recipe:
1. Cook the roasted vermicelli as per the instructions on the package and then rinse with cold water to prevent it from sticking together.
2. In a pan, heat the oil and add the mustard seeds. Once they begin to pop, add the urad dal and sauté until golden brown.
3. Add the curry leaves, asafoetida, and green chilies, and cook for a few minutes.
4. In a large bowl, mix the cooked vermicelli and the seasoning mixture together.
5. Add the thick curd and salt to taste, and mix well.
6. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve chilled.

This delightful dish is a perfect blend of creamy curd and the soft texture of vermicelli, making it a cool and refreshing meal for those hot summer days. The tangy flavor of the curd mixed with the aromatic spices creates a burst of taste in every bite. Enjoy this Thayir Semiya with your family and friends for a satisfying and filling meal.
