Ingredients:

– 1 medium-sized tomato, chopped
– 1 small onion, chopped
– 2-3 green chilies, chopped
– 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
– 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder

Recipe:
1. Start by cooking the toor dal until it is soft and mushy. You can do this in a pressure cooker or a regular pot.
2. In a separate pot, heat some oil and add the chopped onions, green chilies, and ginger-garlic paste. Cook until the onions are soft and translucent.
3. Next, add the chopped tomatoes and cook until they become mushy and release their juices.
4. Now, add the cooked toor dal, turmeric powder, and salt to the pot. Stir everything together and let it cook for a few more minutes.
5. Finally, add 2-3 cups of water to the pot, depending on how thick or thin you like your Saaru. Let it come to a gentle boil and then turn off the heat.
