Recipe:
1. Rinse the tuvar dal thoroughly and soak it in water for 30 minutes.
2. In a pressure cooker, add the soaked dal along with 2 cups of water, chopped onions, tomatoes, green chilies, ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder, and salt.
3. Pressure cook the dal for 3-4 whistles or until it is soft and mushy.
4. In a separate pan, heat ghee and add cumin seeds. Once they splutter, add red chili powder and coriander powder, and sauté for a few seconds.
5. Pour the tadka over the cooked dal and mix well.
6. Sprinkle garam masala and garnish with freshly chopped coriander leaves.
