Welcome to my kitchen, where I love to experiment with flavors and create innovative dishes. Today I am going to share with you a special recipe for Marathi New Year – Ruchkar Mejwani Khoya Basundi Shots. This decadent dessert is the perfect way to celebrate the occasion with friends and family.
Ingredients:
1 liter full-fat milk
150 grams khoya (mawa)
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder
Silvered almonds and pistachios for garnish
Edible silver foil for decoration (optional)
Recipe:
In a heavy bottomed pan, bring the milk to a boil over medium heat. Stir occasionally to prevent the milk from burning.
Once the milk comes to a boil, reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 45-50 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Crumble the khoya and add it to the simmering milk, stirring continuously. Let it cook for another 10-15 minutes until the mixture thickens.
Add sugar and cardamom powder to the mixture and cook for an additional 5 minutes, stirring continuously.
Remove the pan from the heat and let the basundi cool to room temperature.
Once cooled, pour the basundi into shot glasses and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
Garnish the khoya basundi shots with silvered almonds, pistachios, and edible silver foil for an extra festive touch. serve chilled and enjoy!
I hope you enjoy making and indulging in these delicious Khoya Basundi Shots. Happy New Year and happy cooking!
