Ingredients:
1 cup dried chickpeas
2-3 tablespoons of grated coconut
1-2 green chilies, finely chopped
1 teaspoon mustard seeds
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
A pinch of asafoetida
A handful of curry leaves
2 tablespoons of cooking oil
Salt to taste
1-2 tablespoons of lemon juice
Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Recipe:
Soak the dried chickpeas in water for at least 6 hours or overnight.
Drain the soaked chickpeas and rinse them well. Cook them in a pressure cooker with enough water and salt for about 3-4 whistles or until they are soft.
Once the chickpeas are cooked, heat the oil in a pan and add the mustard seeds. When they start to splutter, add the cumin seeds, green chilies, and curry leaves. Sauté for a minute.
Add the cooked chickpeas, grated coconut, and a pinch of asafoetida to the pan. Mix well and let it cook for a few minutes.
Turn off the heat and add lemon juice to the chickpeas sundal. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
