Ingredients:

– 200g paneer (cottage cheese), cubed
– 1 onion, diced

– 1 tbsp garlic, minced
– 1 tbsp ginger, minced
– 2 tbsp soy sauce
– 1 tbsp tomato ketchup
– 1 tbsp chilli sauce
– 1 tsp vinegar
– 1/2 tsp black pepper
– 1/2 tsp salt
– 2 tbsp cornstarch
– 3-4 tbsp oil for frying

Recipe:

1. In a bowl, mix the cubed paneer with 1 tbsp of soy sauce, 1 tbsp of cornstarch, and a pinch of salt. Set aside for 10 minutes.
2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the remaining soy sauce, tomato ketchup, chilli sauce, vinegar, black pepper, and salt. Set aside.
3. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat and fry the marinated paneer until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
4. In the same pan, add a little more oil if needed and sauté the onions, green bell pepper, green chillies, ginger, and garlic until fragrant.
5. Add the whisked sauce mixture to the pan and bring to a simmer.
6. In a small bowl, mix 1 tbsp of cornstarch with 2-3 tbsp of water to make a slurry. Add this to the pan to thicken the sauce.
7. Finally, add the fried paneer to the pan and toss to coat it with the sauce.
8. Garnish with chopped spring onions and serve hot with steamed rice or noodles.
