Chicken Biryani In Pressure Cooker Telugu At Home

Welcome to my kitchen, where I’m excited to share with you an authentic and delicious recipe for Chicken Biryani in a pressure cooker, Telugu style. This flavorful dish is a staple in many Telugu households and is a perfect way to spice up your weeknight dinner routine.

Ingredients:

– 2 cups basmati rice
– 1 lb chicken, cut into pieces
– 1 onion, finely chopped
– 1 tomato, finely chopped
– 2 green chilies, slit
– 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
– 1 tsp red chili powder
– 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
– 1 tbsp biryani masala
– 1/2 cup yogurt
– 2 cups water
– Salt to taste
– 3 tbsp oil
– Fresh cilantro and mint leaves for garnish

Directions:

– Rinse the basmati rice under running water until the water runs clear. Soak the rice in water for 30 minutes, then drain and set aside.
– In a pressure cooker, heat oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
– Add the ginger garlic paste and green chilies, and sauté for another couple of minutes.
– Stir in the chopped tomatoes, red chili powder, turmeric powder, and biryani masala. Cook until the tomatoes are soft and the oil starts to separate from the masala.
– Add the chicken pieces and sauté for 5-6 minutes until they are well coated with the masala.
– Add the yogurt and salt, and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
– Add the soaked rice and water to the pressure cooker. Stir gently to combine all the ingredients.
– Close the lid of the pressure cooker and cook on high heat until you hear the first whistle. Then reduce the heat to low and cook for another 10 minutes.
– Turn off the heat and let the pressure release naturally. Once the pressure is released, open the lid and gently fluff the biryani with a fork.
– Garnish with fresh cilantro and mint leaves before serving.
