– Soak the whole black lentils and red kidney beans overnight and pressure cook them with salt until soft.
– In a separate pan, heat butter and add cumin seeds. Once they splutter, add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
– Add grated ginger, minced garlic, and slit green chilies. Cook for a few minutes before adding the pureed tomatoes.
– Stir in the red chili powder, turmeric powder, and garam masala. Cook the masala until the oil separates from the sides.
– Add the cooked lentils and beans to the masala and mix well. Let it simmer on low heat for 20-25 minutes.
– Finally, add fresh cream and adjust the seasoning as per your taste.
– Garnish with fresh coriander and serve hot with naan or rice.
