Thaen Mittai Honey Candy Sugar Candy

Welcome to my home cooking show where I bring you delightful recipes that are easy to make and delicious to taste. Today, I’m going to share with you a recipe for Thaen Mittai, also known as honey candy or sugar candy. This traditional Indian sweet is loved by people of all ages and is perfect for satisfying your sweet tooth.

Ingredients:
– 2 cups of rice flour
– 1 cup of jaggery
– 1/2 cup of water
– 1/4 cup of honey
– A pinch of cardamom powder
– Oil for frying
– Optional: food coloring for a pop of color

Recipe:
1. In a bowl, mix the rice flour, jaggery, and cardamom powder together. Gradually add in the water to form a smooth dough. If desired, add a few drops of food coloring for a vibrant look.
2. Take small amounts of the dough and roll them into small, round balls. Flatten them slightly to form disc-shaped candies.
3. Heat the oil in a pan over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, fry the candies until they turn golden brown and crispy. Remove them from the oil and place them on a paper towel to drain any excess oil.
4. In a separate pan, heat the honey until it becomes thin and syrupy. Dip the fried candies into the honey, coating them evenly. Allow the excess honey to drip off before placing them on a plate to cool and harden.
5. Once the candies have cooled and hardened, they are ready to be enjoyed! Store them in an airtight container for future snacking.
