– 1kg chicken, cut into pieces
– 2 onions, finely chopped
– 4 tomatoes, pureed
– 1 cup plain yogurt
– 4 garlic cloves, minced
– 1-inch ginger, grated
– 2 green chilies, slit
– 1 tsp cumin seeds
– 1 tsp coriander powder
– 1 tsp garam masala
– 1 tsp turmeric powder
– 1 tsp red chili powder
– 1/2 cup fresh cream
– Fresh coriander leaves, for garnish
– Salt to taste
– 4 tbsp cooking oil or ghee

Recipe:
1. Heat the oil in a large pan and add the cumin seeds. Once they splutter, add the chopped onions and cook until golden brown.
2. Add the minced garlic, grated ginger, and green chilies, and sauté for a few minutes.
3. Now, add the chicken pieces and cook until they are lightly browned.
4. Next, add the pureed tomatoes, plain yogurt, and all the dry spices – coriander powder, garam masala, turmeric powder, and red chili powder. Mix well and cook for 10-15 minutes until the oil starts to separate.
5. Pour in the fresh cream and simmer for another 10 minutes until the chicken is fully cooked and the gravy has thickened.
6. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with naan or steamed rice.
