– 2-3 green chilies, slit
– 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric powder
– A sprig of curry leaves
– 2 tablespoons of roasted peanuts
– 2 tablespoons of fresh coriander leaves, chopped
– Salt to taste
– Juice of 2 lemons

Recipe:

1. Cook the basmati rice and allow it to cool.
2. In a pan, heat the oil over medium heat and add the mustard seeds.
3. Once the mustard seeds start to splutter, add the chana dal and urad dal. Sauté until they turn golden brown.
4. Add the asafoetida, green chilies, turmeric powder, and curry leaves. Sauté for a few seconds.
5. Add the cooked rice to the pan and mix well.
6. Stir in the roasted peanuts, fresh coriander leaves, salt, and lemon juice. Mix until everything is well combined.
7. Cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally, and then remove from heat.
