Hi everyone, today I am here with a broken wheat steamed snack with a little vegetables in it..

First, grind broken wheat which is soaked in water for around three hours or until it turns really soft, in a mixer grinder into a fine or a granulated paste.. The paste should hold a shape when moulded using your hands. You need not add any extra water while grinding the broken wheat. Just make sure that it’s really softly soaked.

Once the broken wheat is ground, transfer it into a large bowl and add finely chopped onion, finely chopped potato, finely chopped piece of carrot, finely chopped green chilli, finely chopped garlic and finely chopped coriander leaves..

Make sure to chop all the vegetables really finely before adding it to the ground broken wheat.

After you have added the vegetables, season it all with some salt, pepper powder and chilli flakes to taste..

You may also add a little Kalonji seeds as well, for taste..

After you have added everything, mix it really well using your hands and shape them into your desired shapes and place it in a steamer to cook it. This snack will not take a long time to cook. Steam it for around 10 mins and it will be ready..!

Meanwhile the snackco is cooking, let’s make a tangy chutney to go with it.

To prepare the Chutney, first prepare tamarind water by soaking a small bowl of tamarind in some hot water and squeeze the extracts of the tamarind in the water and set aside.

Next, heat some oil in a pan and roast a small piece of finely chopped onion and a finely chopped garlic clove.

Once the onion and garlic start to change colour, add two pinches of turmeric powder and some chilli powder to taste and sauté until its raw smell goes away.

Once the raw smell of the spices go away, add the prepared tamarind water to it along with some salt to taste and a small piece of jaggery for sweetness. The amount of jaggery will depend on your taste preference.

After adding the jaggery as well, bring everything to a rolling boil and boil and cook it until it starts to turn slightly thick.

Once it’s thick, you can serve it with the broken wheat snack we just made, after both cool down.
