– 1-2 dried red chilies
– A few curry leaves

2. In a pan, cook the chopped cucumber with turmeric powder and salt until they are tender.

4. Beat the yogurt and add it to the cucumber-coconut mixture. Stir well and cook on low heat for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
5. In a separate small pan, heat the coconut oil and crackle the mustard seeds. Add dried red chilies and curry leaves, then pour this seasoning over the pulissery.
6. Stir in the grated ginger and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
7. Once done, remove from heat and serve the Vellarikka Pulissery with steamed rice or as part of a traditional Onam Sadhya meal.
