Marathi Kitchen Pineapple Sheera Recipe

Welcome to the flavor-packed world of Marathi cuisine! Today, we’re diving into the delightful realms of Pineapple Sheera – a traditional sweet dish that brings together the tangy sweetness of juicy pineapples with the rich flavors of ghee, sugar, and cardamom. This iconic Marathi dessert is a perfect way to indulge your taste buds and add a touch of tropical sweetness to your dining experience.

Ingredients:
– 1 cup semolina (sooji)
– 1 cup chopped pineapple
– 1 cup sugar
– 4-5 tbsp ghee
– 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
– 1/4 cup chopped nuts and raisins
– 2 cups water

Recipe:
1. Heat 2 tbsp ghee in a pan and roast the semolina until it turns golden brown and aromatic. Remove and keep aside.
2. In the same pan, add 2 more tbsp ghee and sauté the chopped pineapple until it softens and releases its aroma.
3. Add the roasted semolina back to the pan and mix well with the pineapple.
4. In a separate pot, bring 2 cups of water to a boil. Once boiling, add the sugar and stir until dissolved.
5. Slowly pour the sugar water into the semolina and pineapple mixture, stirring continuously to avoid lumps.
6. Let the mixture cook on low heat until the semolina absorbs the liquid and reaches a pudding-like consistency.
7. Add the cardamom powder and chopped nuts and raisins, and stir well to combine all the flavors.
8. Once the Pineapple Sheera reaches the desired consistency, remove from heat and serve hot, garnished with additional nuts and a sprinkle of cardamom.
