Mutton Curry Recipe In Tamil

– Welcome to my homecooking kitchen where I share my favorite recipes passed down from generations. Today, I’m going to show you how to make a delicious mutton curry in Tamil style.
– There’s nothing quite like the aroma of mutton curry simmering on the stove. This recipe is packed with flavorful spices and tender mutton that will have your family and friends coming back for seconds.

Ingredients:
– 500g mutton, cut into pieces
– 2 onions, finely chopped
– 3 tomatoes, pureed
– 2 green chilies, slit
– 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
– 1 tsp turmeric powder
– 2 tsp red chili powder
– 1 tsp coriander powder
– 1/2 tsp cumin powder
– 1/2 tsp garam masala
– Salt to taste
– Handful of fresh coriander leaves, chopped
– 2 tbsp oil
– 1 tsp mustard seeds
– 1 inch cinnamon stick
– 3-4 cloves
– 3-4 cardamom pods
– 1 bay leaf
– 2 cups water

Recipe:
1. In a pressure cooker, heat oil and add the mustard seeds, cinnamon stick, cloves, cardamom pods, and bay leaf.
2. Add the chopped onions and green chilies. Cook until the onions are golden brown.
3. Add the ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a few minutes until the raw smell disappears.
4. Now, add the pureed tomatoes and cook until the oil separates from the masala.
5. Add the turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, and salt. Mix well.
6. Add the mutton pieces and coat them with the masala. Cook for 5-7 minutes.
7. Pour in 2 cups of water and pressure cook for 4-5 whistles until the mutton is tender.
8. Once the pressure releases, add garam masala and fresh coriander leaves. Simmer for 5 minutes.
9. Serve hot with steamed rice or naan.
