Arisi Paruppu Sadam (Dal Rice) Ingredients:
– 1 cup of rice
– 1/2 cup of toor dal (split pigeon peas)
– 2 tbsp of ghee
– 1 tsp of mustard seeds
– 1 tsp of cumin seeds
– 2-3 dry red chilies
– A pinch of asafoetida
– 1/4 tsp of turmeric powder
– Salt to taste
– Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Potato Fry (Aloo Fry) Ingredients:
– 3-4 medium-sized potatoes, peeled and cubed
– 2 tbsp of oil
– 1/2 tsp of mustard seeds
– 1/2 tsp of cumin seeds
– 1/4 tsp of turmeric powder
– 1/2 tsp of red chili powder
– Salt to taste
– Fresh curry leaves for flavor

Arisi Paruppu Sadam (Dal Rice) Recipe:
1. Rinse the rice and toor dal together and soak in water for 15-20 minutes.
2. Heat ghee in a pressure cooker, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, dry red chilies, and asafoetida. Sauté for a minute.
3. Add the soaked rice and dal, turmeric powder, salt, and 3 cups of water. Close the lid and pressure cook for 4-5 whistles.
4. Once the pressure releases, open the cooker and gently mix the rice and dal together. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.

Potato Fry (Aloo Fry) Recipe:
1. Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, and curry leaves. Sauté for a minute.
2. Add the cubed potatoes, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well, cover, and cook on medium heat until the potatoes are crispy and golden brown.
