– 1-inch piece of ginger, grated
– 1 cinnamon stick
– 4 green cardamom pods
– 4 cloves
– 1 bay leaf
– 1 tsp cumin seeds
– 1 tsp coriander powder
– 1 tsp red chili powder
– 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
– Salt to taste
– 4 cups water

– Add the soaked rice to the pot and pour in the water. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and cover the pot. Cook for about 20 minutes, or until the rice and mutton are tender.
