Ingredients:
– 1 cup Basmati rice
– 2 tbsp ghee (clarified butter) or oil
– 1 tsp cumin seeds
– 1 small onion, thinly sliced
– 2-3 green chillies, slit
– 1-inch piece of cinnamon
– 2-3 cloves
– 2-3 green cardamom pods
– Salt to taste
– Fresh cilantro leaves for garnish

Recipe:
1. Start by rinsing the Basmati rice in water until the water runs clear, then soak the rice in water for 30 minutes before cooking.
2. In a pan, heat ghee or oil over medium heat and add cumin seeds. Let them sizzle and release their aroma.
3. Add the sliced onion, green chillies, cinnamon, cloves, and cardamom pods to the pan. Sauté until the onions turn golden brown.
4. Drain the soaked rice and add it to the pan. Stir gently to coat the rice with the aromatic mixture.
5. Add 2 cups of water and salt to taste. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and cover the pan with a lid. Let the rice cook for 15-20 minutes, or until the water has been absorbed and the rice is fully cooked.
6. Once the rice is cooked, fluff it with a fork and garnish with fresh cilantro leaves.
7. Your Jeera Rice is now ready to be served and enjoyed alongside your favorite curry or as a standalone dish.
